Invasive PRF

Invasive PRF is the application of pulsed radiofrequency energy through needle electrodes placed directly near nerves, dorsal root ganglia or joints.

It delivers controlled electromagnetic pulses without generating destructive heat, modulating pain transmission while preserving nerve integrity. Typically performed under fluoroscopic or ultrasound guidance, invasive PRF targets specific pain generators such as facet joints, trigeminal nerves or peripheral nerves.

Its cellular effects include reduction of oxidative stress, normalization of membrane potential and modulation of gene expression involved in inflammation and pain sensitivity.
