Herniated disc

A herniated disc occurs when the soft inner material of an intervertebral disc bulges or leaks through its outer layer.

This can compress nearby nerves, causing sharp or radiating pain in the back, neck, arms or legs (sciatica being a classic example). While many herniated discs improve with conservative care, persistent pain may call for interventional treatments. PRF applied to the dorsal root ganglion near the affected nerve is one minimally invasive option that can reduce pain without further damaging tissue.
