The dorsal root ganglion is a cluster of sensory nerve cell bodies located just outside the spinal cord.
It plays a key role in transmitting pain signals from the body to the central nervous system. Because of its central role in pain pathways, the DRG is an important target for interventional treatments, including pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) and neuromodulation. Stimulating or modulating the DRG can reduce abnormal pain signaling and provide long-lasting relief in neuropathic pain conditions.
