Discogenic pain

Discogenic pain refers to pain originating directly from the intervertebral discs, often caused by internal disc disruption or inflammation.

Patients typically report deep, aching pain in the spine that worsens with sitting, bending or lifting. Discogenic pain can be difficult to diagnose because imaging findings do not always match symptoms. Interventional approaches such as intradiscal PRF are being studied as less destructive alternatives to surgical options.
