Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

CRPS is a severe, chronic pain condition that usually affects an arm or leg after injury or surgery.

It is characterized by intense burning pain, changes in skin color or temperature, swelling and hypersensitivity. CRPS involves both nerve dysfunction and abnormal responses in the autonomic nervous system. Early recognition is crucial because timely treatment — including physiotherapy, medications, and sometimes interventional procedures — can improve outcomes and prevent long-term disability.
